Washington: Pipe Bomb Discovered at Student’s Home Following Bomb Threat, 1 Arrested

On 28 February 2024, Kennewick Police Department officers searched a residence on South Harrison Street after receiving a report that a Southridge High School student was in possession of an explosive device. Authorities discovered the explosive device, described as a pipe bomb, and Richland City Police Bomb Squad technicians responded to assist and rendered the device safe. The juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of an explosive device and possession or manufacturing of an incendiary device.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called to the site and removed all explosives from the residence. Alabama: Explosive Device Functions Outside AG’s Office

Peru: Vehicle Damaged by Explosive Device

Mexico: 2 ATMs Damaged by IEDs in 24 Hours, 1 Arrested

On the evening of 20 February 2024, at approximately 2300 hours local time, an IED was functioned on an ATM at a bank in Tula de Allende in Hidalgo state. The explosion caused a small fire that damaged the ATM but did not affect the rest of the bank. Approximately 12 hours later, on the morning of 21 February, an explosive device was emplaced on an ATM approximately 200 meters from the first. Workers found and extinguished a small fire, and authorities recovered an IED that had failed to fully function. Three suspects were witnessed fleeing the scene of the second attack.
