TRIPwire Weekly & Monthly

These reports are published by the TRIPwire team on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis and contain analysis of domestic Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and explosives trends and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) as well as summary and analysis of open-source derived domestic IED-related incident data.

Extremist Threat Reports

Extremist Threat Reports (ETRs) are published by the TRIPwire team and contain specific incident-related information or summarize extremist media releases. These reports provide a summary and analysis of the key elements of an event or media release in order to provide awareness of new or emerging TTPs to the TRIPwire user community.

Emergency Responder Notes

Emergency Responder Notes (ERNs) are published as a one page reference aid intended to increase situational awareness for those who might encounter various IED and Home Made Explosive (HME)-related, precursor materials, components, or incidents in their daily work.

Border Reports

These reports include border assessments and highlight border security efforts conducted on the state, local, and federal level.

Extremist Media Documents

These documents include releases of English-language products by the media arm of extremist groups such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda, and include translations of non-English documents describing techniques for manufacturing IEDs and HME.

DTRA Reports

These reports are generated by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency to facilitate a greater understanding of the nature and scope of threats and hazards related to the estimated 500+ monthly IED events worldwide.

DHS Intelligence & Analysis Reports

These reports were authored by the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A), include initial situational analysis of incidents that are particularly relevant to DHS stakeholders. DHS I&A Reports also provide assessments requested by the law enforcement community and private sector security partners for analysis on specific topics.  Also included are Reference Aids which provide situational awareness of tactics, targets, procedures, and other characteristics that violent extremists have employed and exhibited in select terrorist incidents in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Field Analysis Reports (FARs), coauthored with the National Network of Fusion Centers, provide local and regional context to ongoing threats.

NCTC Reports

The Counterterrorism Weekly is produced by the National Counter-Terrorism Center (NCTC) and contains a compilation of open source publicly available press and relevant commentary on issues related to terrorism and counter-terrorism over the previous seven days.

FBI Reports

The reports are authored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) include Joint Intelligence Bulletins (JIBs), Terrorist Explosive Device Analytic Center (TEDAC) Reports, and National Explosive Task Force (NETF) Quick Look Reports. These reports contain information about domestic explosives, incidents, HME-related arrests and events, and international IED-related events that may migrate to the U.S. Homeland.

Law Enforcement Awareness

These reports include general information that may be of special interest to military, intelligence, law enforcement, Public Safety Bomb Squads (PSBS), and Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) Threat/EOD communities at the tactical level of operation. Some reports include commentary and analysis.

Private Sector Awareness

These documents include private sector advisories and documents produced by national Advisory Centers and focus on critical infrastructure-related topics.

Emergency Responder Awareness

These reports include the First Responder's Toolbox produced by the Joint Counterterrorism Assessment Team (JCAT) and are intended to increase awareness of terrorist TTPs and threats for the state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector communities.  Other emergency responder awareness products provide information on various topics which continue to challenge first responder resources throughout the United States.

Academic Reports

These reports include fact sheets produced by academic organizations and highlight trends in IED and explosive incidents worldwide.
