Pakistan: Explosives Functioned in Several Attacks Killing 6, Injuring 17

On 25 December 2022, a series of 9 attacks in Balochistan province killed 6 Pakistani army personnel and injured 17 civilians. In the Kahan region, an IED functioned near a security forces’ vehicle during a clearance operation. In Quetta, unknown militants threw a grenade in a bazaar near a residential area. In the Sambaza area of Zhob district, a Pakistani soldier was killed in an exchange of fire with a militant who was also killed. No group has claimed responsibility for the various explosive attacks, and the investigations are ongoing.

Lebanon: IID Thrown at TV Station Building

On 27 December 2022, an unknown suspect threw an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, at the building of a local television station in the Wata el-Mouseitbeh neighborhood in Beirut, which self-extinguished before reaching the building. No further device details have been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
