TRIPwire, 26 May 2023 On 25 May 2023, Morrisville Police Department officers, Bucks County detectives, the Philadelphia Bomb Squad, and federal authorities responded to a residence on South Pennsylvania Avenue and recovered what appeared to be two PVC pipe bombs inside. The Philadelphia Bomb Squad removed the devices from the residence. The apparent pipe bombs will be examined by the bomb squad, the ATF, and the FBI. TRIPwire, 26 May 2023 On 26 May 2023, at approximately 0400 hours local time, an unknown suspect used an explosive device to target a Surinamese money exchange office in Amsterdam before fleeing the scene on foot. The blast damaged the office and a neighboring building. No injuries were reported. A forensic investigation team and local bomb squad responded to assist and conducted a post-blast analysis of the scene and examined the explosive material. Three separate blasts occurred at the company’s other Amsterdam branches within several days. No further device details were provided.
TRIPwire, 25 May 2023 On 24 May 2023, the Westchester County Police Department (WCPD) Hazardous Devices Unit responded to a residence in White Plains after an unexploded ordnance was found during a basement cleanup. The ordnance was an Mk2 hand grenade with the safety pin partially out and was located on an “unstable platform.” The WCPD Hazardous Devices Unit removed the unexploded ordnance, placed it into an explosive containment trailer, and transported it for disposal. No further device details have been released, and no injuries were reported.
