On 9 May 2023, at approximately 1100 hours local time, a man brought a bag containing three pipe bombs into the public safety building of the Harrisburg Police Department (HPD), claiming he found them on the street. The HPD’s K9 team and the Pennsylvania State Police bomb squad responded to assist. Bomb technicians used a robot to retrieve the devices before removing them from the scene to be rendered safe. On 27 April 2023, at approximately 0145 hours local time, Cranston Police Department (CPD) officers responded to Greenwood Street after a suspect in a moving vehicle threw an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, at a parked van. On 5 May 2023, CPD arrested three individuals, a 19-year-old female, a 20-year-old female, and one male juvenile, in connection to the incident.
