Kentucky: IID Device Functioned in Home Prior to Police Chase, 5 Injured, 1 Arrested
On 12 July 2024, at approximately 0718 hours local time, McCracken County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to a home on Almyra Avenue in Paducah for a report of a house fire. At the scene, deputies learned that the fire had been caused deliberately by an improvised incendiary device (IID) after a 24-year-old man attacked a woman in the home and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle. The woman and several other people who were inside the home escaped without injuries, but a dog was killed in the fire.
