On 2 July 2025, an 18-year-old male was arrested for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack during the July 4th celebration parade in Canyon, Texas. The suspect was allegedly planning to use the highly sensitive explosive Hexamethylene Triperoxide Diamine (HMTD) along with a firearm; however, he was unable to successfully purchase the firearm.
On 5 July 2025, the Camden County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after he fled from a traffic stop on a motorcycle and was found with suspected homemade explosive devices. Per news reports, the suspect’s backpack contained two homemade fireworks according to a probable cause statement.>Deputies stated that the devices were very heavy, contained several small metal balls, and were wrapped in notebook paper with a green fuse poking out of each.

A man accused of carrying weapons at a rally in West Chester on Saturday is facing additional charges after pipe bombs were allegedly found in his home on June 16, 2025. Police state they found 13 improvised explosive devices, several sketches of explosive devices, tactical vests, and other items in his garage while executing a search warrant at his home. The Montgomery County bomb squad moved the bombs to a secure area.
On June 28, 2025, police and fire were called to Frank's Mobile Home Park in the Springfield Township for a report of an explosion in one of the homes. Upon arrival, authorities located a person who had significant injuries to their hand and transported them to a nearby hospital. As law enforcement checked the area, reports state they encountered a suspect, lighting what police initially believed were fireworks in the parking lot in the 300 block of South Rockrimmon Boulevard.
A man is facing more than 40 charges after police said a device "went off" at a hotel in Louisville, KY, causing a fire. Police said around 12:20 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2025, hotel staff were trying to check on a guest who hadn't checked out. When they tried to open the door, an "unknown device went off," police said. It was reported that the Louisville Metro Police Department Bomb Squad located two suspected explosive devices inside the room. ATF and St. Matthews Fire also assisted.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated two IEDs were found in Sahuarita on Friday, June 20, 2025. A similar device was located in the same general area on June 13, 2025. The FBI and ATF joined the investigation after the three explosive devices were found in Sahuarita.
A Shelby County man faces several charges after deputies found what they call explosives and multiple suspicious devices at a home on South Shades Crest Road. Investigators say the devices were located June 18, 2025, during a court-ordered mental health pickup and search warrant at the home. The Army was called in to remove the devices and everything found, was safely removed.
On June 17, 2025, a 42-year-old man was killed at a residence on Strawberry Point Road in Oak Arbor, WA, in an explosion that occurred while he was building explosive devices, per the Island County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO). According to the ICSO, it is estimated that between 1.5 and 2 pounds of explosives caused the explosion. Two people sustained minor injuries. Afterward, investigators conducted a search of the victim’s residence on Torpedo Road on North Whidbey and found 25 pounds of illegal explosive devices, as well as a cargo container filled with commercial fireworks.
