The windows above the doors and the porch ceiling were damaged, but no injuries were reported. No further device details were provided. The investigation is ongoing.

On 21 February 2023, at approximately 0800 hours local time, a resident on U.S. Highway 190 flagged down a Kempner Police Department officer regarding an item he purchased at a yard sale, which turned out to be an explosive device. No further device details were provided. Kempner Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office, and Fort Hood Explosive Ordnance Disposal Teams responded to assist. The device was rendered safe and taken into ATF custody for further investigation.

On 21 February 2023, a vehicle-borne IED (VBIED) functioned outside a government official’s residence in Mogadishu. No further device details have been released. According to local officials, the VBIED attack was followed by a gun fight inside the targeted house that lasted for hours and resulted in the killing of 10 civilians and 4 militants involved in the assault. Al-Shabaab militants claimed responsibility for the attack.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Bomb Squad technicians responded to assist, removed the IED, and conducted render safe procedures offsite. No further device details have been released. The driver was arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
